Residents and Drivers if you see a fire hose laying on the roadway or even possibly blocking your path of travel, please don’t just drive over it! It’s not there to inconvenience you! There is a big reason it’s there! That is the lifeline for firefighters on the fire ground and could determine weather the property in question is damaged, burned to the ground or even worse a firefighter injured or killed! Please stop and think! Too many fire hoses in Penn Hills and surrounding areas have been damaged in recent months due to this behavior. You WILL be cited and fined!

The Arson Dog program was cut soon after the investigators filed a suit against Allegheny County for overtime pay. This may or may not have anything to do with the program being discontinued, but it just seems unusual. We need to get this program reinstated so we can save lives.

A special Thank You to Bernadette and the Rapp Funeral Home for a great day at the Firemens Appreciation Day for the Penn Hills and Verona Volunteer Fire Departments. Even with the rain the event was a great success, see you all next year. Thanks to everyone on the committee who helped bring it all together.
The Tower Crew spent a few hours at the Allegheny Twp Fire Department 1st Annual Car Cruise tonight. Thanks to Matt Rearick event organizer and the fellow brother and sister firefighters from Allegheny Twp St. 99 and Markle St. 101 for the invite. Hopefully you all enjoyed the Tower Rides. This was there first car cruise and they had a great turnout of vehicles including several Fire Department vehicles from the area.
